RESPECTED SIRJI,
The recent news item published daily “LOKSATTA” Dated-05-09-2007(News Item Attached) regarding on going vidarbha agrarian crisis based on so called in depth study conducted by the team of Vidarbha Jan Andolan Samiti (VJAS) has not only damaged the agrarian cause atlarge but has put big question mark to the long time creditability of your news paper group Indian express as whole story is fake and fabricated as no one from our organization has done such ridiculous study and never submitted such baseless causes of vidarbha farm suicides.
I can understand that this news item has been published as research work of our organization in order to damage the creditability of claims of vidarbha farmers suicides in media but this irresponsible conduct from your senior staff is against all morality and values that we were advocating through out your life, This is very unfortunate part that touts and agents of Govt. babus have taken control over all sincere and serious people working in news paper group that has pained me write this letter as it has done to grate injustice dying field of rural vidarbha .
If you look at the story it clearly says that we –VJAS are the sincere activist group who have been following farm suicides in the region and further says that we have conducted more than 1400 k.m. marathon tour to know the facts of the vidarbha farm suicides that we have never conducted ( where as longest distance from nagpur to buldhana is 340 k.m.) in order to draw predefined conclusion that all reported farm suicide cases are of non agrarian causes as your staff’s fabricated report and in the report all cases were rejected as per the Govt. babus(district collector) version is the final version. in fact for knowing the facts farm suicides after the various reports of Tata Institute and Indira Gandhi institute and more Rs.5000 crore economic packages then it’s for the mentally distress person’s job to tour the 1400 k.m. when at all one has to travel for not more than 900 k.m. to know the causes of farm suicides which are known to the world.
Sir, it’s all right with Indian express so called investigative reporter not give any respect to us and poor dying farmers of west vidarbha but he has no authority to humiliate us and defame us but it has created basic question to ethics of journalism “how can the news paper publish report on front page quoting the source which purely fake and bogus!”
we never expected that news paper of Ramnathji Goainka will do such type hostile journalism that indicates complete anarchy and mess in the administration .
Please arrange to ask VIVEKJI to remove this unlawful assembly of touts and agents in IE as it will lead to disaster to your esteem news paper.
