THIS TAKES THE OFFICIAL TALLY OF VIDARBHA FARM SUICIDES TO 796 SINCE JAN.2007 AND 1658 SINCE PRIME MINISTER RELEASED THE PACKAGE TO STOP THIS ON GOING FARM SUICIDES IN WEST VIDARBHA,KISHOR TIWARI OF VIDARBHA JAN ANDOLAN SAMITI INFORMED IN NAGPUR TODAY.

VJAS has strongly objected government sponsored media reports that vidarbha farm suicides are not due agrarian reason “this is unjust innocent mass genocide by saying they are not victim of economic distress prevailing due to agrarian crisis in cotton belt of vidarbha. We should look at the root of problem that complete economic collapse of the region ,farm suicides are the only signals of the serious problem that rural India is facing .the administrative indicators for the compensation can not divert from the attention and the fact in vidarbha as per Police station records show that the total number of suicides in 2006 (in the six districts) was a stunning 2,832. Higher than the already awful figure of 2,425 the previous year. Much of that increase came after the "relief packages" had been launched . this vidarbha farm suicides figure is almost double than listed in the vjas farm suicide register it means every 8 hourly when one innocent farmer’s suicides is official reported same time at least one farmers suicide is completely ignored by media and administration, this is very shocking and by now truth of farm suicide should investigated .we will continue to inform every farm suicide in vidarbha and it’s up to media pandit and expert to access the facts and truth “,kishor tiwari of vidarbha jan andolan samiti informed today in press note.

Vidarbha Farm suicides are the by product wrong policies of the state and it’s need of the hours to change them not to run fabricated bogus news stories as now all major news papers, agencies and electronic channels have visited rural vidarbha and seen the poverty & hunger of the dying farmers,kishor tiwari added.
